Hi everyone...

Postby milli » Tue Jul 27, 2010 7:02 pm

So I was thinking about how lately we've been working hard to keep everyone informed on facebook and twitter... leaving our wonderful community here a bit neglected. Sorry about that.. it's nothing personal. We're just impressed with all this shiny new technology... that's all.

First... since I hadn't said it here yet, I will say it now. The 10th anniversary tour was just so fantastic. In my nearly 5 years with Wheatus (time flies, huh?), this was absolutely the most universally positive tour I've ever been a part of. From the crowds to our crew to our FANTASTIC opener MC Frontalot to our satisfaction with our own performances every night... this tour was as close to perfect as we've ever come. So to all of you who came out, whether it was for just one show or seemingly all of them, thank you SO much... because you made it all happen. No promises yet, but we're pretty confident we'll be back on the road in the USA this fall and hopefully back to the UK / EU sometime next year.

Also, I'd be remiss if I didn't thank our crew for this tour: Joey, Rosie, Mark, Wes, and Antony. We couldn't have done it without them. And even if we COULD have done it without them, it definitely wouldn't have been even 1/2 as fun without their presence. Thanks for everything and I love you all very much. And also, of course, much thanks to MC Frontalot for being a great opening act, a great guy to share the stage with, and an almost impossibly cool dude. We hope to be doing many more shows and other things together in the near future. I don't think I'll ever be able to play Dirtbag again without wanting to hear his rap in the 3rd verse...

As most of you are now aware, Antony aka A.D. Lane followed us around all tour with his camera because he's in the process of making a documentary about our little band and our often large struggles. More info will be coming on this in time, but for now the best way to keep up seems to be by following @WHEATUSdoc on twitter. So give that a go and that way you and I will be getting all our updates simultaneously. I also don't want to post it here because I don't know how official it is just yet, but the "working title" of the film is also currently floating around the twitterverse, if you're curious...

As for us now... we're home and living our lives as best we can. The Jupiter EP is still forthcoming of course, but like I said before, we no longer have any plans of announcing a hard "release date." When it's done, we will post it and you will be pleasantly (we hope) surprised. And that's all I've got to say about that.

OH... we've also got our new t-shirts now up on our merch page. So if you saw something you liked at the merch stand on this tour but then accidentally spent all your money on beer... you have a second chance to give us more of your money! We respectfully request that you take this opportunity, as Brendan has amassed quite a tab at Nina's Pizza these last few weeks...

I think that's it... any other questions for me? Post them here! I'm officially a more active board member again. Join me, won't you?

Great tour, I did my best to PR pre, during and post Glasgow gig and the crowd loved you guys. Nice to finally meet you Matt even if I was rather intoxicated most of the time :) not sure if you were one of the ones in the receiving end of one of my pointless jibbering sessions so sorry if you were :P

Me and Auli are hatching a plan to go to waaaay more gigs next time.

I second Ross on that... It was so great to meet you matt... all of my little crew who went all spoke on the train about how much of a nice guy you were :)... The two wheatus shows I went to on this tour were two of my favourite nights... EVER!!!

It was also great meeting the rest of the band (including my idol, bbb) and Joey, Wes, Mark, Hammy and Gemma after knowing them all for so long online...

Looking forward to meeting everyone else at FROGVEMBER!!! :D :D :D

I'm hoping the docu-title isn't going to be what I've seen...it's not very good in my opinion.

For those wanting to know what it is: Wheatus - You Might Die
I know what it's like to feel like life is passing by and you are stuck in the place you're in

Triple shot of Jack with the teeniest amount of Coke I believe (that was Newcastle) :-) No wonder you can't remember!!

Glasgow....can't remember!

Sorry if you think so, but that's pretty surely the title. Personally I think it's really perfect. It's a great & concise statement about the struggles of independent bands, it speaks VOLUMES about what Wheatus has gone through over the span of 10 years, and it's also got a little tie-in to the Pop, Songs & Death thing and the generally dark themes in our more recent music. So I think it's very very good.

For those of you not currently following, the working title of the documentary is:
Wheatus, You Might Die.

AND I voted for it, as did Brendan... so go easy on Antony. He's a sensitive young man, after all.

The question is what weren't you drinking.

I was on the triple shot of jack with a splash of coke on Aulis orders and she was on a triple shot of something else with a splash of something else less alcoholic, £18 rounds for two people are NOT good! In Glasgow it was various cocktails beforehand then jack for me and jager for Auli

This is most likely of no interest to you but there's a running joke in the guys I grew up with that is basically this line "you might die" or "we'll all die". See, we have this alcoholic and very troubled friend who goes by the name of Alan (or 'Ghost' to his friends) who was at my house one time when I was recording, he turned up very drunk and rambling and I got much of his mindless jibbering on tape. There is one line where he mumbles loads of random words that sounds a bit like "blah blah blah, fuck the rest of it, we'll all get full of E's....WE'LL ALL DIE!!!" ...I stuck it as a wee sound bite on one of my earlier song mixes and it became a bit of an inside joke for when something random happens.
In short, I like the title as a result of the boring story I just recited.
